Seminar on Vedic Chandas - Call for Papers

A seminar on VEDIC CHANDAS is proposed to be held during Vyasa Poornima in the Year 2010. This theme has been considered very important by the Vedic scholars as well as the general Vedic enthusiasts.

Of the vast collation of data and research carried out by Vedic researchers, there is abundant scope for taking the available information to the general readers and to spread such valuable knowledge to the spiritual Sadhakas and aspirants interested in pursuing Vedic Literature. Such a study can also be more focused on applications to mantra sastra.

USCEFI as part of their Vedic Seminar series proposes to hold seminar on Vedic Chandas to promote and share the research being conducted in this field.

Valuable papers will be received and brought out for presentation in this seminar will also be published as an important publication which gets circulated all over the world to interested scholars, institutions, research centers and Universities

Papers can be in English, Telugu or Sanskrit. Interested participants may please forward the papers by email to

Seminar on Medical Astrology - Call for Papers

A seminar on Medical Astrology is proposed to be held during January 2010. This theme has been gaining vast importance by the scholars of Astrology as well as the faculty in medical colleges and medical research institutions.

Of late vast collation of data from medical researches is taking place to find out possible linkage of a definite nature between astrological predictions and medical observations on patience. Such a study has been more focused on chronic diseases.

Incidents have been reported for ‘early – set in’ of diabetes in children and their linkage to the planetary positions in the horoscopes. Equally interesting observations of wrong diagnosis and need for a second opinion were recorded due to the influence of Rahu and Ketu.

To promote sharing of knowledge in such areas and to educate more people about it, USCEFI is proposing to hold a seminar on Medical Astrology as part of their Vedic Seminar Series.

Limited number of papers will be accepted and brought out for presentation in this seminar. Papers can be in English or Telugu.

Seminar on Nirukta - Bangalore - Report
Vedic Seminar-3 | July 5th, 2009, Bangalore, India.

A national seminar on NIRUKTA, one of the six Vedangas, was held on July 5th during the Vyasa Poornima Celebrations in Bangalore in Yoga Hall of Vedavyasa Bharati Complex (10th Main, Btm Layout, Bangalore).

Papers were presented on several issues relating to the study of Nirukta by various reputed scholars. The seminar has been well attended with delegates of USCEFI, members of Vedavyasa Bharati and Academicians and Vedic Scholars of various institutions including Shanti Rama.

The papers presented consisted of

  • An overview of Nirukta, the three parts that deals with, Yaska Msharshi’s detailed contributions, the summary of individual sections, the Vedic relevance, the relevance to the present day world, guidance to the future students for the study on Nirukta, the vast Literature and enormous contributions of many commentators in the past on Nirukta and many other themes
  • The Educational scope for including Nirukta in Academic subjects as a Vedanaga, its usefulness, its direct applications in day to day living
  • The research scope of Studying Nirukta, the derivations and contextual applications of words, letters, swara and such varied factors for enriching to the sacred literature and literature of ancient Indian culture and brining it within the gambit of understanding for the inquisitive students and spiritual aspirants or sadhakas
  • Some examples of words as explained in Nirukta from different sections of Yaska Maharshi’s work
  • • Survey of available literature and publications on Nirukta

The proceedings of the seminar have been published in the form of a book and is available with USCEFI.


Seminar on Nirukta - Invitation & Call for Papers- Bangalore
Vedic Seminar-3 | May 31st, 2009, Bangalore, India.

We at USCEFI are dedicated to the promotion of Indian Culture, Vedic Sciences and Vedic Studies. As a part of this program spread over the past four decades we have been conducting seminars, conferences, publishing books (more than 100 by now), addressing public functions and participating in national and international events of spiritual interest with flair for Indian culture.

As part of the new Vedic Seminar Series started by USCEFI in 2008 (July 2008 in Bangalore and Nov 2008 in Tirupati) we are announcing another seminar this on Nirukta, one of the six Vedangas. This would be conducting as part of our Vyasa Poornima Celebrations at Sapta Rihsi Temple, Bangalore. We coordinally invite all the enthusiasts to attend and participate in the Seminar. For those who are proficient in this subject, we invite you to submit a paper.

Vedic Seminar
Vedic Seminar-1 | Aug 2nd, 2008, Bangalore, India.

During the Vyasa Poornima Celebrations at Sapta Rishi Temple in Bangalore, USCEFI conducted a Vedic Seminar to promote and educate Vedic Sciences. The day after Vyasa Poornima, the 19th, was primarily devoted to the proceedings of the Vedic Seminar. Several prominent scholars, students from Vedic University and Gurukulam presented papers on various topics related to Vedic Sciences.
